Mary Gatta, Associate Professor of Sociology, is one of approximately 500 individuals New Jersey Governor-elect Philip D. Murphy has named to 14 transition committees. They will undertake the policy analysis and recommendations on a host of state issues and initiatives as the new administration prepares to take office in January 2018. Professor Gatta will serve on the Labor and Workforce Development Committee.

“I am honored to be part of such an impressive group of people to help shape the transition on workforce issues facing New Jersey,” noted Professor Gatta.

The committees are comprised of numerous policy experts and outside leaders in their respective fields, and each committee will have legal counsel to support their efforts. The committees will meet throughout New Jersey over the course of the next two months. They will then submit reports and recommendations to the Governor-elect and his leadership team prior to the inauguration that will inform the new administration’s legislative and regulatory agenda.
