The College Academic Senate (Senate) serves as the voice of faculty and members of the Student Support Staff. Subject to the guidelines of the CUNY Board of Trustees and their own bylaws, the Senate  provides a forum for discussion, review, and recommendation of procedures, policies and practices related to academic matters. Senate recommendations are referred to the Council or standing committee, as appropriate, for review and action.

Membership of the Senate is comprised of 24 full-time faculty members—8 from each area of practice (Humanities, Social Science, STEM); 3 part-time faculty members; 8 full-time Student Support staff members;  one library faculty; the Deans of the Office of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management and Student Affairs; the President and the Provost.
