Message to Our Students

Dear Guttman Students,

We are all deeply saddened by the loss of life and destruction caused by the recent catastrophes that have impacted so many members of our Guttman community-  particularly our students, staff, and faculty that have direct ties to the areas affected. Natural disasters have no boundaries and the scope of the damage is heart-breaking, our community stands in support with those confronted by this hurricane season.

While rooted in New York City, Guttman is a global community that is engaged in civic and social responsibility. Engagement means that we take action to support our community members, and others, in times of tragedy. Please join our community in offering your assistance for those throughout the Caribbean, Latin American, the southern United States, and other parts of the nation.

The Guttman Disaster Relief website is designed to connect our community with resources that are available. Please review this page to see the many agencies and resources available across CUNY and NYC, to find out how you can help.  Also, we are aware that some of you are personally directly affected by the crises and have activated our Single Stop office to serve as a clearinghouse to help.  Please stop by the Single Stop offices located in Room 020 and Room 021, or contact Kednel Jean, kednel-gregory.jean@guttman.cuny.edu, or Samantha Gregoire, samantha.gregoire-james@gutmman.cuny.edu, and let us know how we can help.

In these incredibly difficult times the true test of the human spirit is measured. I firmly believe in the ability of the Guttman family to come together to support and uplift one another.  Our best days are ahead of us and with a showing of compassion and empathy for our extended family, we will get past these hurdles.
