Marcus D. Allen, Ph.D: Professor of Political Science and Urban Studies and Program Director for United Men of Color
Dr. Allen is a Professor of Political Science and Urban Studies at Guttman Community College. In his two years at the college, he is responsible for a number of areas, including serving as Coordinator of Urban Studies, organizing co-curricular discussions, and teaching courses in the Urban Studies program and the First Year Experience.
Andrew Bennett: Assistant Director of Mentoring and Student Success
Andrew, more affectionately known as Drew, assists in the supervision of the Peer Mentoring Program on campus and is also the United Men of Color (UMOC) Program Coordinator. Peer Mentors are available for academic support, classroom support in LaBSS or Studio, as well welcoming prospective students to Guttman. If all else fails, a Peer Mentor is available as a general campus resource and friend.
Drew, 1st generation Jamaican, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Social Welfare with a minor in Africa Studies from SUNY Albany, as well as a Master’s in Education from Indiana University. He enjoys anything to do with sports/ physical activity, is a music enthusiast, and enjoys travel.
