Community partners—individuals and organizations that are part of the civic, cultural and economic life of New York—are involved in a variety of college activities. Some partners collaborate in multiple ways while others target their efforts within a particular area. Guttman Community College welcomes all types of participation, including but not limited to:
Career Planning and Preparation Programs
Network with other leading businesses by participating in programs and workshops to provide students with an overview of career opportunities and workplaces, including:
• Interviews and workplace observations
• Mentoring and professional networking events
• Skill-building workshops (resume reviews, interviewing, dining etiquette)
• Customized events to suit the needs of your organization
Community Service Projects
Host short-term (from several hours to a full day) or long-term (semester or academic year) volunteer projects to help meet the needs of your organization and community.
Enhance coursework and programs for a career-ready workforce by serving on advisory groups or as a presenter/respondent in a class project.
Share expertise while meeting business needs by creating and supervising professional field projects or case studies for individual students or small groups.
Host Information Sessions on campus to introduce faculty and student groups to your organization and industry.
Host paid or unpaid internships for a pool of talented, enthusiastic and hard-working candidates.
Host job shadowing or externships (short internships) for individual students or small groups.
Conduct interviews on campus with qualified, pre-screened candidates for full or part-time employment opportunities and paid internships at your organization.
Promote your organization by hosting a presentation and tour of your worksite for small groups.
