Financial Literacy

Financial literacy is having the knowledge and skills to manage money effectively. Financial literacy is so important for college students because understanding how to manage or avoid debt, budget, save, and even invest money can have a direct impact on your financial status, and even your future and the future of your family, when you graduate from college.

New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) also provides free financial counseling through the Financial Empowerment Center initiative provided by NYC. Request a phone session with NYLAG by contacting the Connect Center.

Request a one-on-one virtual meeting with Dana or Samantha by calling 646-313-8857 or send an email to connectcenter@guttman.cuny.edu . You can receive help with how to create a budget, open a bank account, reduce debt, and more.
