Ayanna Dickinson, a Guttman Urban Studies major, was selected to join the 2019 cohort of the Pulitzer Center student fellows. Ayanna will travel to Ecuador in July with Global Guttman and will report on the conservation efforts in the Chocoan Rainforest. Once completed, her report will be published on the Pulitzer Center Student Fellows website. In October, Ayanna and the other 42 fellows will gather for the Student Fellow Washington Weekend.
The Pulitzer Center awards fellowships to students at its Consortium Colleges. Ayanna is Guttman’s second fellow – last year, Argentina Maria Vanderhorst reported from her Global Guttman trip to China. Pulitzer Center reporters offer mentoring to the fellows, and each student is paired with an adviser who is an expert in their field. The advisers are Pulitzer Center grantees.
