Britney Puma, 2019 America Needs You Fellow

First-year student Britney Puma has been selected as a 2019 America Needs You Fellow. The America Needs You (ANY) Fellows Program is a highly competitive, intensive, two-year program for high-achieving, low-income, first-generation college students. The program has four components: Intensive Career Development, One-on-One Mentorship, Robust Networks, and Holistic Support. As a Fellow, Britney will participate in 29 full-day workshops covering topics on skill-building, career exploration, college completion, and personal growth.

Britney is an Information Technology major, and her goal is to work in the cybersecurity field and be part of an incident response team. She wants to build technology tools that help defend against human trafficking. She is humbled and excited to be part of the 2019 ANY cohort and represent Guttman.

The ANY Fellows Program aims to improve college completion and employment rates for first-generation college students. Eighty-seven percent of graduates secured employment or enrolled in graduate school within six months. Working ANY graduates are earning, on average, 20% more than recent college graduates nationally.

Students interested in America Needs You (ANY) can reach out to Guttman’s Center for Career Preparation and Partnerships in room 407 to get more information and learn how to apply for the next cohort.
