Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies Chet Jordan has co-authored a new book on the changing community college landscape. Post-Recession Community College Reform: A Decade of Experimentation, examines the development and implementation of community college reform initiatives. In the book, Professor Jordan and co-author Anthony G. Picciano discuss how community colleges have shifted their academic priorities to experimentation and reform—hoping to raise graduation rates, provide further access to underrepresented groups, and reduce the overhead cost of instruction. Major initiatives in California, New York, Tennessee, Florida, Connecticut and Wisconsin serve as the basis for the analysis and evaluation. Post-Recession Community College Reform: A Decade of Experimentation is published by Routledge.
