Summer Bridge participants are expected to use their Guttman email to maintain communication with the College, including Program leadership, faculty, and staff. To activate one’s Guttman email account, refer to the instructions provided during New Student Orientation. For further assistance, email the IT Helpdesk at or call 646-313-8008.

After completing the New Student Orientation, Summer Bridge participants become eligible to borrow a laptop and/or a Wi-Fi hotspot from the College for the duration of the Program and the Fall semester. Students should contact the IT Helpdesk at from their Guttman email or call 646-313-8008. An appointment will be scheduled to pick up the device from the Guttman campus.

Students with other issues that would prevent full participation in the remote delivery of Summer Bridge should reach out to to fully discuss the options available for support.


Every student who completes Summer Bridge and begins Guttman in the Fall semester receives a stipend. The purpose of the stipend is to offset the cost of college attendance and fund purchases that promote academic success.

All stipends are disbursed through CUNYfirst in early October. Students who set up direct deposit will receive their stipends as soon as they are processed. If direct deposit has not been established, a check will be mailed to the address listed in CUNYfirst.
