Take a Virtual Campus Tour Today!

We realize that many Guttman Grizzlies have not had the chance to explore our small but vibrant campus building located at 50 West 40th Street. As many of you gear up for face-to-face hybrid/in-person classes, we have created a virtual campus tour that will orient you to the classroom and common spaces. Please take a few moments to take your tour before your first day on campus!

Navigating Our Vertical Campus

  • Follow all safety protocols posted on signs and TV monitors throughout the building.
  • Adhere to directional signs posted on floors and walls to ensure optimal foot traffic.
  • Please refrain from entering classrooms where you do not have assigned courses to limit any cross contamination (in the event there is an active COVID-19 case).
  • While social distancing is not required, we will encourage and expect that people who are not fully vaccinated should continue to practice physical distancing whenever possible.
  • Use the stairs whenever possible to avoid overcrowding in elevators.

Temporary Mask Mandate

CUNY has enacted a temporary mask mandate effective August 16. For the time being, all students, faculty and staff, regardless of vaccination status, must:

  • Wear a face mask inside all CUNY campuses and office buildings.
  • Wear a mask outdoors on campus when unable to maintain physical distance from others (for example, while attending a CUNY gathering or sporting event).

The only exceptions to wearing a mask inside are:

  • If a fully vaccinated person is alone in an enclosed space such as an office or conference room.
  • In classrooms, vaccinated professors who are teaching a class and are able to keep social distance from everyone else in the class, may choose not to wear a mask.
  • Briefly while eating or drinking, provided social distancing is maintained.

Acceptable face coverings include but are not limited to:

  • Cloth masks (e.g. homemade sewn, quick cut, bandana)
  • Surgical masks
  • Face shields (if used without a mask, shields should wrap around the sides of the wearer’s face and extend below the chin)

Students, staff, or faculty who require a replacement mask can visit the Public Safety desk located in the first-floor lobby. To read CUNY’s update on Masking, click here.

Hygiene, Cleaning, and Disinfection

  • Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitizer located in high traffic areas.
  • Guttman will adhere to hygiene, cleaning, and disinfection requirements as advised by the CDC and DOH.

Safety Communications

Guttman will communicate with students via email and the COVID-19 website.

If any member of the campus community feels that the College is not honoring the safety protocols stated above, they may submit their anonymous concerns here or email covid@guttman.cuny.edu. Complaints about insufficient resources, such as empty sanitizing stations, missing signage, etc. will be addressed within 48 hours by Facilities.
