Information for Faculty & Staff

The entire Guttman Community, faculty and staff, are invited to attend the college’s Seventh Annual Commencement taking place on Thursday, June 18, 2020.

Time:              10:30 a.m.

Location:       Hostos Community College Center for the Arts & Culture is located at 450 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York. The entrance for the arts center is located on the west side of the street underneath the Hostos Community College Bridgeway.

  1. For those attending and participating in the academic processional, and do not need academic regalia please advise here: 2020 Faculty/Staff form.
    .

    • If you would like to purchase an academic hood, you may do so directly through Oak Hall Cap & Gown. You will be able to purchase an academic hood based on your degree and alma mater. To save you on shipping costs, your order will be shipped to the college.

    • Kindly note, you must first choose a degree rental to see the option to only purchase an academic hood.
      .
    • If you purchase an academic hood, it will be available to pick-up the week of June 8, 2020.

 

  1. For those attending and participating in the academic processional and would like to rent academic regalia please advise by reserving your cap/gown here: Guttman Oak Hall form.
    .

    • If you would like to rent regalia and purchase an academic hood, there will be an option to do so on Guttman Oak Hall form. You will be able to purchase an academic hood based on your degree and alma mater. To save you on shipping costs, your order will be shipped to the college.

    • All rented regalia, and if purchased, academic hoods, will be available to pick-up the week of June 8, 2020.
      .
    • Kindly note – all rented regalia must be returned, to Guttman – room 004, immediately after the Commencement. There will be no way to return your rented regalia at Hostos.

    • Tickets will be available to pick-up the week of June 8, 2020.

Commencement Day

Doors will open at 9:45a.m. A section in the theater will be reserved for the Guttman community. Late arrivals will be seated only after the Commencement Ceremony has started, at the discretion of Hostos personnel.

If you are participating in the academic processional, we ask that you arrive early at Hostos by 9:15a.m., and head to room 391 (on the 3rd floor). All participants in the academic processional will be sitting on the stage. There is no dress rehearsal before the ceremony, so please arrive early to receive instructions regarding lining up for your academic processional. Your academic regalia will serve as your ticket into Hostos and the robing area.

Kindly note that you will need either a ticket or academic regalia to enter Hostos, having a Guttman college ID will not be sufficient.

There will be no tickets or academic regalia available on the day of Commencement.
