In celebration of student achievement and determination, Guttman Community College hosted a luncheon on May 6 to honor those who successfully met their academic goals and exited probation. This event spotlighted the impact of the Academic Resilience Program (ARP), a key initiative to support students on academic probation through personalized guidance, progress monitoring, and targeted interventions.

Of the 119 students on academic probation in Fall 2024, 39 demonstrated remarkable improvement and returned to good academic standing. An additional 36 students showed sufficient progress to continue on probation with support, while 44 were academically dismissed. The program’s comprehensive reinforcements, coordinated by Krystal Liriano-Gonzalez, director of strategic enrollment and persistence initiatives, and her dedicated team, has contributed to a more supportive academic environment.

As a result of these efforts, 105 previously dismissed students were successfully readmitted this academic year, and the College is proud to report an 18% reduction in academic dismissals over the past two years. The Enrollment Management team remains committed to fostering a culture of resilience and persistence, ensuring more students are retained and allowed to thrive.
