Brightspace
Brightspace by D2L is a learning management system (LMS) that supports teaching and learning across all course modalities. It’s where you’ll access course materials, submit assignments, take quizzes, participate in discussions, and more. Instructors use Brightspace to enhance in-person teaching or to deliver fully online and hybrid courses. With its user-friendly interface, Brightspace is designed to help you stay organized and engaged with your coursework.

GOAL Course
All enrolled students will have access to the Guttman Online Academy for Learning (GOAL) course in Brightspace. This course is designed to help you prepare for success in online and hybrid courses at Guttman Community College. You’ll learn what to expect from different course modalities, explore strategies for successful online learning, practice using Brightspace, and learn where to go for support.
To access the course, log into Brightspace. Under the My Courses widget, select the Organizations tab, then select the Guttman Online Academy for Learning (GOAL) course for the current academic year.
Review the Announcement on the course homepage, then select Module 1 from the Visual Table of Contents Widget to begin the course. The course consists of four modules and takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete.
After completing the course, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion and can also earn a digital badge credential to recognize your completion of the GOAL course.

Additional Support & Information
- If you do not see one of your courses in the My Courses widget, your instructor may not have made the course active yet. You can also check the Course Pending Instructor Activation widget on the college homepage. This widget shows courses you are registered for in the current semester that have not yet been activated (made available) by your instructors.
- Brightspace Support is available 24/7/365. Through Lumi Chat, anyone logged into Brightspace can reach a support agent at any time.
