Accept our Offer of Admission
Have you been accepted to Guttman Community College? Congratulations! To secure your enrollment, complete these two steps:
- Accept Offer of Admissions by signing into the CUNY login page, navigating the Admissions Section in your Student Center and clicking on “I Accept Offer” for Guttman Community College.
- After you accept, immediately check if you have received an automatic commitment deposit waiver. If not, please submit a $100 non‐refundable commitment deposit.
Not accepting the offer of admission may result in forfeiture of your acceptance.
Deadlines to accept our offer of admissions and submit a commitment deposit:
- Spring entry: February 15
- Fall entry: June 15

Course Registration
Attend New Student Orientation
Entering first-year students are required to complete New Student Orientation (NSO) prior to beginning the Bridge program. Watch your email for an invite! NSO provides you with holistic support in your transition to college.

New Student Orientation (NSO) at Guttman is designed to support you as you transition to college life or acclimate to a new academic environment. Our mission is to equip you with essential tools and connections for a successful start.
NSO will guide you through accessing your Guttman email and technological platforms, understanding financial aid, reviewing academic programs to choose your major and registering for courses. You’ll also be introduced to Guttman’s resources, faculty, staff and peer networks. We aim to create a welcoming environment where you feel confident and ready to begin your journey at Guttman Community College.
Submit Proof of Graduation
If you have committed to Guttman Community College, you must present proof of high school graduation prior to the first day of the semester. Failure to submit an official high school transcript with graduation date by the deadline will result in cancelation of your enrollment.

- Instructions and the deadline to submit proof of graduation will be posted in GrizzlyPath.
Satisfy N.Y.S. Immunization Requirements
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella
New York State Public Health Law 2165 requires all college students born after January 1, 1957 to provide their institution with immunity to Measles, Mumps and Rubella. Failure to comply will result in your being dropped from all classes, receipt of a “WA” grade for all classes and potential loss of your financial aid award.
You are required to provide legible proof of:
- Measles (otherwise known as rubeola) – 2 doses of live measles vaccine administered after 12 months of age and at least 30 days apart (exact dates of vaccinations required)
- Mumps – 1 live dose mumps vaccine administered after 12 months of age (exact dates of vaccination required)
- Rubella (also known as German measles) – 1 dose live vaccine administered after 12 months of age (exact dates of vaccination required)
OR
- MMR Vaccination (Measles, Mumps, Rubella – 2 doses after 01/01/1972)
- Dose 1 must be given at age 12 months or later
- Dose 2 must be given after 15 months of age OR at least 28 days after the first vaccination
We will accept any one of the following for your MMR vaccinations:
- Have your health care provider fill out, sign, stamp and attach your immunization documentation to our Immunization Form;
- Provide a signed and stamped copy of your health care provider’s or clinic record;
- Provide an original signed and stamped copy of your lifetime immunization record card (childhood yellow/blue immunization card); or
- Provide an official signed and stamped copy of immunization records from a former high school
Immunization records can be obtained from a public health department immunization information system. Students born after 1994 who were raised in New York City can check the Citywide Immunization Registry for their records by calling 311.
Provide a dated positive blood test lab result (known as a titer or serology) with reference ranges showing immunity to measles, mumps and rubella.
Meningococcal Meningitis
New York State Public Health Law 2167 requires all colleges to provide information on Meningitis and the Meningitis vaccine to all students registering for six credits or more (or its equivalent). Students are required to submit a record of the immunization within the past five years or sign a meningitis response form (Part 3 of the Immunization Form) to demonstrate receipt of the meningococcal disease and vaccine information.
How to submit your Meningococcal information:
- Access your CUNYfirst account
- Navigate to Self Service, then to Student Center
- Under the To Do List tab, click on Meningitis Acknowledgement Form
- Review information regarding the Meningococcal Meningitis vaccine and respond electronically
The Meningococcal Meningitis vaccine is not mandatory, but we require proof that you have received the vaccine within the last five years before the Meningitis hold can be removed. Students who choose to decline the vaccine online or on the Immunization Record Form, by selecting the third option on the form, will have an immediate removal of the hold.
- If you are unable to respond electronically, complete Part 1 and Part 3 of the Immunization Form by scanning and emailing it to immunization@guttman.cuny.edu. Proof of meningitis vaccine must be attached if you choose not to decline.
Complete the Bridge Program
As a first-year student, you’ll begin your transition to Guttman in a non-credit-bearing Bridge program that immerses you in the Guttman community. You’ll learn Guttman’s academic expectations, plus strategies and study skills to meet them, and you’ll explore your strengths and challenges as learners, practice academic and professional goal setting and gain an understanding of the resources available at the College.
You’ll get a chance to work with Guttman faculty, fellow classmates and staff, such as a Student Success Advocate – an advisor who provides guidance throughout your entire First-Year Experience.
