What to Expect
At Guttman, you’ll work closely with an academic advisor upon entry through graduation. Your advisor will provide you with academic, career and transfer planning support.
Appreciative Advising Model
During the First Year Experience (FYE), we utilize a proactive advising model that asks open-ended questions, anticipates your needs and helps you achieve your goals.
As you enter your program of study (major), we shift to a coaching model that identifies personal strengths, recommends appropriate resources and develops goal-oriented action plans that promote success as you transition to a four-year institution or the workforce.
They took the time to take care of me, to understand my situation.
– Daniela Luna
If you’re interested in transferring to a four-year college after Guttman, we encourage you to start considering your options during your first semester. We’re here to help by providing:
- Individualized support through one-on-one meetings and direct messaging.
- Special programs and events to guide your college research and planning.
- Support for understanding how educational pathways align with careers.
