Welcome to Advising & Transfer Support at Guttman Community College. Through one-on-one meetings, group advisement, and campus-wide programming, we provide opportunities for students to clarify their academic and professional goals. Together, we will develop an appropriate educational plan that satisfies degree requirements and prepares you for your next steps after Guttman.
Students will become active and effective agents of their own learning and decision-making.
In recognition of individual identities and lived experiences, the Office of Advising & Transfer Support is committed to helping students build the necessary skills and confidence to progress through Guttman to a senior college and/or career within a meaningful timeframe. Utilizing an approach that is holistic, strengths and inquiry based, advisors work to fulfill this mission through four strategies:
- Cultivate student relationships characterized by transparency and trust.
- Provide course facilitation, one-on-one meetings, and programming that challenges students to generate, refine, and accomplish their academic and professional goals.
- Collaborate with campus partners to support success throughout a student’s academic career at Guttman.
- Incorporate reflection, assessment, and student voice in our processes.
