New York, N.Y. (July 29, 2025) — Guttman Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristina Rosales as the College’s new Registrar. Rosales officially began her role the week of July 21, bringing with her more than fourteen years of experience in student records, registration and academic policy across the CUNY system and beyond.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Registrar Rosales earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Arts in Urban Affairs from Queens College. She has dedicated the majority of her career to serving the CUNY community, with previous roles at Queens College, John Jay College of Criminal Justice and most recently as Deputy Registrar at Brooklyn College. Her professional experience also includes serving as assistant registrar for registration and scheduling at New York University.

“Kristina is deeply committed to registrar services that are transparent, collaborative, and student-centered,” said Dr. Paul Reifenheiser, officer-in-charge, provost and vice president of academic affairs.

“My leadership approach is about aligning day-to-day operations with long-term impact. I look forward to leading a registrar team that not only meets institutional goals but also elevates the student experience along the way,” said Rosales. She is excited to work closely with faculty, staff and students at Guttman to support a seamless academic journey from admission to graduation.

Stella and Charles Guttman Community College was CUNY’s first new community college in more than forty years. Reimagining what community college could be, Guttman opened its doors in Manhattan in August 2012 to create a research-based, innovative model focused on moving students efficiently toward graduation. Offering associate degree programs in a nurturing environment, the College provides holistic support and advising to ensure timely degree completion, and most graduates transfer to senior colleges. Guttman is federally designated as a Hispanic-serving institution and minority-serving institution with 90% of the student population identifying as Latine, Black/African American or Asian. Niche.com named Guttman the best community college in America in 2020 and the top community college in New York State in 2021.
