On Commencement Day
- As seating is limited, guests will be admitted into the reserved seating areas only if they have a ticket. Tickets will not be available on the day of Commencement.
- Every guest who will occupy a seat will require a ticket, including children.
- Children aged 2 and under who will remain on an adult’s lap for the entire Commencement ceremony will not need a ticket.
- Guests will be seated in the reserved section starting at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m.
- Commencement is scheduled to be at least two (1.5) hours long. The ceremony will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. Late arrivals will be seated only after the Commencement ceremony has started at the discretion of Guttman personnel.
- Security at Guttman’s commencement venue in Bryant Park is managed by experienced CUNY Public Safety personnel and tailored to our needs. (See prohibited conduct.) Uniformed officers may conduct random bag searches.

During the Commencement Ceremony
Please adhere to the following:
Balloons, fog horns, signs or alcohol/drugs are strictly prohibited. Balloons, fog horns and signs will be taken away, and anyone found with alcohol/drugs will be escorted out of the reserved seating area.
Please be courteous and silence your cell phones.
Seating will be based on first-come first-served basis. “Saving seats” will not be permitted.
Please refrain from leaving your seat during the ceremony and/or leaving the ceremony early.
Standing during the ceremony is strictly prohibited. Public Safety will ask you to be seated and/or escort you out of the reserved seating area if you fail to comply.
