Our goal is to provide exceptional customer service in keeping with the high standards promoted by Guttman Community College and the City University of New York. We use payroll systems and solutions to audit, submit and assure accurate and timely processing of payroll and payroll-related transactions. We process all time and leave according to contractual bargaining agreements and University personnel policy.
Employees are encouraged to use annual leave accruals during the annual leave period in which they are earned. Hours of work are those designated by the College or unit and cannot be changed or amended without the approval of the President or his or her designee.

Tax Information
Who Needs a Paycheck Checkup? With the new tax law changes, it’s especially important for people to use the Withholding Calculator on IRS.gov, or speak with their tax advisor, to make sure they have the right amount of withholding. Having too little tax withheld can mean an unexpected tax bill or penalty at tax time next year.

Holiday Schedules
2024-2025 CUNY Employee Holiday and Annual Leave Calendar
These are the scheduled holidays, unscheduled holidays and annual leave year periods as provided by Board policy or by the various Union contracts, which may be subject to change. As you will see, all groups of employees have similar schedules, but they are not identical. Therefore, it is important that you consult the chart to determine your exact grouping.
For holidays which fall on a Saturday or Sunday, the schedule indicates when they are to be observed, or provides for an unscheduled holiday, for employees who normally are scheduled to work Monday through Friday.
FAQs
Q: What is the Guttman Community College, CUNY Federal Identification Number (FIN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN)?
A: The FIN or EIN is 13-6400434
Q: How do I change my personal information in the Human Resources and Payroll databases?
A: To change personal information such as address and phone number, log into CUNYfirst > HR/Campus Solutions > Self Service > Personal Information and update your information directly. For changes in name, marital status, and/or degree, complete a Change of Personal Information form and submit to the Office of Human Resources directly. If you are participating in the Edenred Commuter Benefits Program, submit a Change Personal Information form to the Assistant Director for Employee Services in the Office of Human Resources. Contact your union and pensions plan directly.
Q: Why is there a discrepancy between my gross annual earnings and my annual base salary?
A: For full time employees, computation of the biweekly wage is made by dividing the annual salary by the number of calendar days in the year and multiplying this result by fourteen (the number of calendar days in a pay period). See the NYC Pay Rate Calculator.
Q: What happens if I lose my paycheck?
A: In the event you lose your paycheck, please submit a notarized Stop Payment Notice Form to the Office of Human Resources. For more information, visit the NYC Check Replacement page.
Q: When closing my direct deposit bank account, who should I contact first: my bank or the Office of Human Resources?
A: We advise that employees change their direct deposit account with the Office of Human Resources first. Furthermore, the Office of Human Resources strongly recommends that employees do not close their old bank account until the new one has been updated in the payroll system to avoid the check being returned to the city.
Q: What do the different sections of my pay stub mean?
A: Refer to The Office of Payroll Administration Pay Statement Explained webpage for a quick breakdown of your paystub.
