Frequently Asked Questions
What is an EAP?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, prevention and education services for you and your dependents. The benefit is provided now through BeWell by CCA.
What is BeWell by CCA?
BeWell by CCA is a digital platform offering access to care for a continuum of mental health needs; tools to support mindfulness, well-being and performance; and resources for your daily life.
Can family members use the new platform?
BeWell by CCA is available to employees and their family (no pre-screening or eligibility requirements). Members must be 18+ to initiate counseling, coaching and work-life request. Coverage continues for six months post-employment.
Do I need to download an app?
Nope! You can use the platform from any device. However, this is an app you can download.
How do I access the BeWell platform?
Use the following CUNY link to access the site: https://ccaplatform.com/go/cuny. First-time visitors will be prompted to create an account by entering their first name, a valid email and college (Stella and Charles Guttman CC).
Is there a new customer service number for us?
Please continue to use the same 24/7 customer service hotline: (800) 833-8707.
Is this platform confidential?
Your personal information and use of the platform are completely confidential and will not be shared, except when disclosures are required by law to keep yourself or others safe from harm. The privacy policy can be viewed in full on the website.
How many sessions can I have with a counselor?
You may receive up to three short-term counseling sessions per separate problem per year. Every case is different; your counselor will determine the number of sessions needed to address your specific issue.
What if my issue requires longer-term counseling?
If assistance is needed for an issue requiring longer-term counseling outside of the scope of the EAP, you will receive a referral to your medical plan or to local community resources.
Is the EAP only for counseling?
No. The program offers unlimited consultations with financial counselors and 30-minute consultations with attorneys over the phone, and can assist with locating a number of resources such as finding care for pets, personal care, travel, contractors, education and managing day-to-day responsibilities at home and work.
What does it cost?
There is no charge to you or your household members to access the EAP. This benefit is paid for by CUNY.
