We are excited to support you as you begin your academic journey. Whether you are a first-year student or transferring from another institution, Guttman Ready is designed to help you start strong, register for classes, learn about campus resources, and prepare for a successful first semester.
As part of Guttman Ready, all new students are required to complete both:
- New Student Registration
- New Student Orientation
In-Person Program Details
Requirement 1: New Student Registration
New Student Registration helps you prepare for your first semester by completing important enrollment steps and connecting with advising support. We offer two ways to complete New Student Registration. Please review both options carefully and select only one format.
Option 1 In-Person New Student Registration — Recommended
This is the most comprehensive experience and ensures you receive the greatest level of support in one visit.
During your session, you will:
- Register for classes
- Take your Student ID photo
- Claim your Guttman accounts
- Complete important “To Do” items
- Receive Financial Aid guidance
You will also participate in student success workshops, learn about campus resources and support services, and connect with fellow students, faculty, and staff.
Duration: Approximately 3.5 hours
Option 2: Online New Student Registration
Students who are unable to attend an in-person New Student Registration Session, including fully online degree-seeking students, may participate in an Online New Student Registration Session.
During your session, you will:
- Register for classes
- Receive guidance on important next steps
- Claim your Guttman accounts
- Complete important “To Do” items
Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Important: Services such as Student ID photos and comprehensive Financial Aid support will require additional follow-up after your session.
Requirement 2: New Student Orientation
All students are required to complete the online New Student Orientation in Brightspace.
The online orientation includes videos, resources, and short quizzes designed to help you learn about Guttman’s academic expectations, resources, support services, and opportunities for student success.
Duration: Approximately 60–75 minutes
The online New Student Orientation is available during the registration cycle and may be completed before or after your New Student Registration Session. However, it must be completed before the start of the semester.
If you need to address questions or submit documentation on behalf of your student, you can visit The HUB – Student Information Center on the 3rd floor. Be sure to sign in with Public Safety on the main floor and provide a valid form of identification.
