New design brings the College’s branding to life and improves the user experience

Guttman Community College Launches Redesigned Website

NEW YORK, N.Y. (September 22, 2023) – Visitors to guttman.cuny.edu are in for a surprise as Guttman Community College presents the initial launch of its new website design. The newly transformed website features a modernized design and streamlined navigation while creating an improved, student-centered experience.

“The new Guttman website represents a new chapter for the College and reflects our forward momentum as we continue to grow and find new ways to serve our current and future student populations,” said Guttman President Larry Johnson. “The best is still yet to come, and the new website brings us one step closer.”

Elevating the Guttman brand, the new design prominently features the College’s colors and provides a friendly yet inspiring tone of voice. Students are placed in the spotlight via photography and testimonials, and enhanced navigational features make information easier to find while reflecting the College’s focus on innovation.

The website redesign has been a collaborative effort between Guttman and Queens, New York-based RK Software. With the College’s Marketing & Communications and Information Services offices at the helm, an internal Website Taskforce committee – featuring representation from departments across the College – has informed the site’s direction and contributed to content development.

Numerous top-level pages have been redesigned with the new look, and the rest of the website’s pages will be migrated to the new design over the coming months.

Stella and Charles Guttman Community College was CUNY’s first new community college in more than forty years. Reimagining what community college could be, Guttman opened its doors in Manhattan in August 2012 to create a research-based, innovative model focused on moving students efficiently toward graduation. Offering associate degree programs in a nurturing environment, the College’s three-year graduation rate consistently surpasses the national average, and most graduates transfer to senior colleges. Guttman is federally designated as a Hispanic-serving institution and minority-serving institution with more than 85% of the student population identifying as Latine or Black/African American. The College was named the best community college in America in 2020 and the top community college in New York State for 2020, 2021 and 2022 by Niche.com and other ranking agencies.
