Institutional Effectiveness
What is SAGE?
- SAGE is our Systematic Approach for Guttman Effectiveness.
- SAGE is our institutional effectiveness framework, which integrates planning, assessment, and resource allocation in support of the College’s mission and goals.
- SAGE is a process that connects institutional-level and unit-level priorities, outcomes, and budgeting.
SAGE Purpose
Why do we SAGE?
The purpose of SAGE is to answer the question: How well are we collectively meeting our goals?
- “How well” refers to the quality, satisfaction, efficiency, cost effectiveness, and/or impact of annual practices related to key activities, operations, services, learning opportunities, and/or student learning outcomes.
- “Collectively” refers to participation by academic, administrative, educational, and student support areas from across the College.
- “Our goals” refer to common institutional/divisional goals in support of the College mission.
SAGE Process
How do we SAGE?
- At the unit level: Academic, administrative, educational, and student support areas complete SAGE Profiles to document annual action items and assessment findings aligned with college/divisional goals and budget priorities.
- At the institutional level: The combined unit-level SAGE Profiles plus institutional research findings reveal collective annual progress toward college/divisional goals and identify areas for improvement for future planning and budgeting.
